This 12-credit certificate program provides students with the opportunity to understand the environment through the window of preservation, conservation and sustainability. As more natural resources are being depleted and global attention focuses on how to preserve and repair our natural resources, nonprofit and for-profit organizations are being monitored for sustainable practices, transparency, and relationship-oriented communications in building and maintaining a public presence that is environmentally sensitive. Further, this certificate prepares students for how to prepare for communicating and maintaining appropriate relationships during crisis events.

This certificate is a “must have” for any individual with an entrepreneurial spirit to the corporate executive. Consumers are more sophisticated, information seekers who want to know an entities’ supply chain providers before making a decision to purchase, participate or partake of an experience.  Thus, understanding the importance of transparency, sustainability, and managing crises in internal, external and traditional/digital media environments aids an organization in making proactive decisions. Coursework focuses on applied, experiential and problem-based learning experiences that can be translated to the workplace.
