This course helps the student become familiar with the basic mathematical principles underlying contingent financialarrangements emphasizing situation in which mortality is the contingent event and long-term instruments such as lifeinsurance. Mathematical fundamentals of survival distributions life insurance life annuities and premiums are explored.Proficiency in spreadsheet software is necessary. The course is designed to help students prepare for the long-term portionof the Fundamentals of Actuarial Mathematics (FAM) exam offered by the Society of Actuaries.Pre-Req: ASCI 3100 and MATH 2170 and STAT 3150 or Department Head Approval
