This course provides an in-depth study of network security principles and defense mechanisms. Students learn to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in wired and wireless networks through the use of firewalls intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS) virtual private networks (VPNs) and secure network design practices. Hands-on exercises and labs reinforce understanding of core security concepts defensive techniques and incident response strategies essential for protecting networks in today?s evolving digital environment. The course aligns with current industry standards and supports preparation for cybersecurity and network defense certifications.Prerequisite(s): CYBS2000 Introduction to Cybersecurity and INFS 2230 Computer Networking
