This course provides opportunities for candidates to explore specificteaching and assessment strategies and processes particularly suited for the field of social studieseducation. Emphasis will be placed upon the tools of inquiry and national/state standards forhistory geography economics and civics. Candidates will study and practice the theory andpedagogy of the discipline. The purpose of this course is to immerse and prepare competentteachers for the demands and techniques of successful education in middle and high schools.Education candidates must earn a ?C? or higher to successfully complete this course.Prerequisites: Candidacy Status in Education Credits: 3
