This course enables upper-level undergraduates to analyze literature through detailed studies of texts considering aesthetic values social and political ideologies rhetorical and genre strategies and/or major biographical facts about the authors. Students prepare annotated bibliographies make oral presentations write short analytical papers and write a substantial scholarly essay based on their research. Prerequisites: ENGL 2000 and 48 Credits
