Distributed systems are everywhere and from the implementation perspective they are complex largeand difficult to design and build. This course introduces students to methods techniques and algorithmsnecessary for the creation of distributed software systems. Computer networks communicationprotocols concurrency and synchronization and distributed systems architectures (e.g. client/server andmulti-layer systems) are discussed. The students will design and develop a running distributed softwareusing concepts learned and incorporating the key characteristics of distributed systems.Prerequisite: ENGR34103 Credits (4 contact hours)
