In this course students have an opportunity to develop further competence in the role of nurse educator. Students will use concepts from prerequisite education courses and critically evaluate knowledge and theory from nursing and other disciplines for relevance to nursing education. With the guidance of an expert preceptor students apply educational theory and best practice to discipline specific clinical learning environments. The focus of this course is to provide a framework for the nurse educator to utilize and evaluate teaching strategies that will facilitate an active learning environment for students create a safe clinical environment and encourage lifelong learning.3 Credits
