This course provides an orientation to the professional practice and science of clinical mental health counseling. History major theoretical orientations and scientific underpinnings of clinical mental health counseling are explored as well as current developments in practice and research. Topics include clinical health professions clinically related research treatment efficacy specialized training and orientations to the major activities of clinical mental health counseling. Ethical principles are strongly emphasized.Prerequisites: PSYC1010 or PSYC 1015 PSYC2800 PSYC3550 PSYC3580 PSYC3700 C or Better is required3 Credits
