The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the theories assessments and treatments necessary for counseling professionals planning to work with adults children and families dealing with bereavement. The class will focus on the psychological physical and spiritual aspects of death dying and bereavement as well as gain an understanding of the mourning process and types of losses. The class will offer an overview of the historical cultural and religious diversity developmental context community emerging trends and legal/ethical dimensions of death dying and bereavement.3 Credits
