This course examines the cutting - edge business and artistic presentation practices of the global leader in live entertainment World Wrestling Entertainment ( NYSE : WWE ) . It includes a review of the history of the professional wrestling business its talent development theatrical influences / production practices event / facility management operations as well as WWE's innovative branding marketing and mass media strategies . Students will apply the fundamentals of marketing management and communication to provide a critical analysis of WWE's business practices . Students will also engage in critical discussion of current storylines trends and issues within the WWE.Prerequisites : 45 credits and SPMG 1010 Intro to Sport Management or MGMT 2000 Management Theory and Practice or MARK 2000 Principles of Marketing or by Permission of the Department Head3 Credits
