Real Medical Emergencies

Real Medical Emergencies

“At the RISE Center, technology helps nursing students practice how to handle real medical emergencies.”

Nursing students must get hands-on, clinical experience before they can earn their license. But how to do so without risking patient safety? Enter the Research and Innovation in Simulation Education Center at Robert Morris University, an internationally recognized leader in the use of simulation to educate and train nurses and other health care professionals.

The RISE Center utilizes lifelike computerized mannequins and trained actors (standardized patients) throughout the undergraduate and graduate curriculum. Students get real-time feedback in their clinical and communication skills.

The RISE Center is one of only a select few freestanding nursing programs in the world accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
