• PSEA: Liability Insurance
  When you reach junior year, you are required to get liability insurance. What is liability insurance? Protects you as you are visiting schools as a preservice teacher. You should get a two-year membership. You can choose the provider, but Student PSEA and Council for Exceptional Children are two organizations that provide memberships.

  Ensure you talk with your financial aid advisor about all the grants that are available for teachers.
• Report Abuse PA
  All seniors are required to take the 3-hour mandated reporter training and get the certificate. The certificate is good for 5 years.
• PA.GOV: Certifications
  You can add certifications to your PA Teaching License through testing. The first step after graduation is to get your initial certification. However, you can take a test (no additional coursework) and add on to your certification! You can take these exams at any point during your time here (or beyond). Then you apply to the state to add this to your teaching license ($200 fee).
• PA Student Teacher Support Program
  Apply for the PA Student Teacher Support Program (grant) before your pre-student teaching semester. Please watch the site closely for updates.
