Madison Pisarchick, a 2020 Department of Communication graduate with a concentration in advertising, has won the Media Association of Pittsburgh Scholarship Honoring Mary Beth Beggy. The annual award helps support students who show talent in field of study relevant to a career in radio, TV or a related media profession.

"This award also pushed me to continue creating, even with limited resources during the pandemic," Madison said. "I am incredibly honored to receive this award and that I am able to represent such an empowering woman, Mary Beth Beggy Fischerkeller."

Her professor Anthony Moretti said, "What impresses me most about Madison is her 'can-do' attitude. Give her a challenge, and she'll meet it. Give her an opportunity, and she'll seize it. She's worked hard and earned every honor that's come her way."

Madison also completed minors in business and photography, and was recognized as one of the department's Outstanding Seniors this past year.
