RMU doctoral alumnus Howard Slaughter D’06 is president and chief executive officer of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh. He will on campus signing his new book, “Addicted to Debt: Get Out and Stay Out.”
Prior to joining Habitat, Slaughter was an entrepreneur and president and CEO of his own company, Christian Management Enterprises, a business management and real estate consulting firm. His banking career began at Equibank, where he was an assistant vice president. He then became vice president of community development at Dollar Bank, where he led the financial institution to its first ever “Outstanding CRA” rating from the Office of Thrift Supervision. Slaughter was senior vice president of public policy and development at the Epilepsy Foundation of Western and Central Pennsylvania.
Slaughter holds a bachelor’s degree from Carlow University, an M.B.A. from Point Park University, a master’s in public management from Carnegie Mellon University, and a D.Sc. in information systems and communications from Robert Morris University.
