The Enrollment Management Division is offering a professional development opportunity for RMU faculty and staff members to learn more about college affordability. Vice President Wendy Beckemeyer will present eight modules in the College Affordability Academy®. The following topics below will be covered in four two-hour sessions. A fifth session will be a capstone project presentation and luncheon, for all who have completed the Academy.

-Loan Entrance Counseling
-Financing Higher Ed
-Debt management & Counseling Families
-Majors & Income
-Impacting Employability
-Landing Jobs Over A Lifetime
-Capstone project: Small groups assigned to create a deliverable (video/app/handout/web content) for our prospective student audience. Small groups will present their deliverable in the final session.The sessions are scheduled for the dates below, and will take place in Franklin 204.
-Thursday, January 30 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
-Wednesday, February 12 10:00 a.m. – noon
-Monday, February 24 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Personal Mention
- Maria Kalevitch, dean of the School of Engineering, Mathematics and Science, has been named to the Health Careers Futures Board beginning in 2020. Health Care Futures is one of three supporting organizations of the Jewish Healthcare Foundation. This invitation comes to Kalevitch shortly after she finished her stint on the Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens Board, where she received an official recognition award for her service and guidance during her three years on the board.
- Last month Amanda Neatrour, interim director of the Women's Leadership and Mentorship Program, received a Women of Excellence Award from the New Pittsburgh Courier. She was one of 50 African American women from our region to be given the honor at the luncheon earlier this week.
