Veterans enrolled at RMU now have a licensed psychologist on duty on campus to offer them counseling and other assistance. The program, known as Veterans Integration To Academic Leadership (VA VITAL), serves approximately 140 RMU students eligible for veterans healthcare benefits. RMU is the first higher education institution in Allegheny County, and the fourth statewide, to offer the VITAL program.
Sabrina Hakim, VITAL program psychologist at the RMU Center for Veterans and Military Families, will provide counseling services to RMU student veterans and help student veterans coordinate care they receive or require from a primary care provider or psychiatrist. In addition, Hakim will offer training to faculty and staff about specific needs of student veterans. Read more here.

RMU engineering professors and current students are coming up with creative ways to engage high school students who would normally be able to come to campus. Later this month RMU professors and students will participate in a Virtual Career Panel session with PA Cyber School students. Students in grades 9-12 will be able to ask questions about RMU, college life, engineering professions, and much more.

RMU has unveiled a new scholarship program to go head-to-head with our closest competitor -- Duquesne University, which over four years costs approximately $40,000 more in total cost of attendance than Robert Morris. To make the savings for students who choose RMU even greater, the university will give a $1,000 textbook voucher to any freshman student, starting with Fall 2021, who is accepted to Duquesne but chooses to enroll at RMU and live on campus.
