Early intervention professionals may work in a wide range of settings from home-based to specialized classroom settings in all environments (least to most restrictive) hospital settings and as consultants. You will become familiar with referral assessment and support processes and with the IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan). Additionally family centered practices are a thread throughout the course as FCP are a hallmark of EI programming. Although many may not plan to work in EI the information and the techniques learned in this class can provide support when working in any social service or early childhood program. setting.
