- The RMU Center for Cyber Research and Training (CCRT) is proud to announce publication of its premier journal. The first Issue (Jan-Mar 2019) of the International Journal of Cyber Research and Education (IJCRE) has been printed. The IJCRE is a high quality, peer-reviewed journal that covers applied, theoretical, and operational research, sponsored academic education and corporate training, and the application to knowledge in academia, government, corporate, and law enforcement.
- The Enrollment Management Division is offering a professional development opportunity for RMU faculty and staff members to learn more about college affordability. Vice President Wendy Beckemeyer will present the modules in the College Affordability Academy®.
Topics including trends in student aid, loan entrance counseling, financing higher education, debt management, and majors and income will be covered in four two-hour sessions. The fifth session will be a capstone project presentation and luncheon for all who have completed the Academy. This video is one example of a capstone project developed by one of the CAA teams.
Ideally, it is best for the group if you are able to attend all of the module presentations, but we welcome your participation if you can attend fewer. The sessions are scheduled for the dates below, and will take place in Franklin 204.

Monday, January 28: 2 to 4 p.m.

- RMU football player Adam Wollet was named to the 2018 Google Cloud College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Team for the second consecutive season. It marks the 11th time an RMU football player has earned the honor while Wollet becomes just the fifth different player in team history to be recognized on the national level by CoSIDA.
- Robert Morris University has published a new book, The College Affordability Academy®: A Blueprint for Counseling Families, to help high school guidance counselors, college admissions counselors, and others advise families on the most affordable ways to pay for higher education. The College Affordability Academy was conceived by Wendy Beckemeyer and the book includes a foreword written by President Chris Howard and a conclusion written by former U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.
Personal Mention
- Director of Graduate Admissions Sherri Aufman and Ping Wang, professor of computer and information systems, co-authored a paper for the Information Technology New Generation conference. The paper, "Discovering Student Interest and Talent in Graduate Cybersecurity Education," has been accepted as a regular paper for presentation in Las Vegas and will be published in the conference book of chapters.

Helena Vanhala, associate professor and head of the Department of Media Arts, was recently selected as a National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) Faculty Fellowship recipient for the January 2019 NATPE Marketplace and Conference in Miami Beach, Florida.
