  • Senior business major Zaithwa Gwaza is the recipient of this year's Presidential Transformational Award, RMU's highest honor for an undergraduate student. Gwaza is the Student Government Association and came to RMU from Malawi. Read more about him here.

  • RMU and the Allegheny County Health Department have partnered to host a vaccine clinic (Pfizer) for anyone 16 and older at the UPMC Events Center, at several dates over the next few weeks. Everyone who gets vaccinated at the events center will receive a free t-shirt, a certificate for a free bucket of balls at the RMU Island Sports Center Golf Dome, and can quality to win season tickets in basketball and football.   • The RMU Analytics Club hosted Data Fest 2021 on April  9-11 with the guidance of Adam Combs, assistant professor of statistics. Three teams of RMU students competed to solve a data analysis challenge under the guidance of volunteer mentors, including RMU alumni. After submitting a final video presentation discussing the results of their analysis, the teams will ranked in three categories: best insight, best use of external data, and best visualization -- with a Judge's Choice Award also being bestowed. Judging the competition where Chris Groendyke, associate professor of actuarial science; Gary Alan Davis, professor of computer and information systems; and Dave Hudak, professor of actuarial science and mathematics. Two of the teams were students from the School of Engineering, Mathematics and Science, and the other was from the School of Informatics, Humanities and Social Sciences. The competition is open to students from other universities. 

  • The RMU women's lacrosse team has won the Mid American Conference championship in its inaugural year in the conference. You can read all about it here. The team wrapped up its regular season yesterday (May 6) with a victory over Detroit Mercy.

  • The university's traditional fall events will be back and better than ever starting in August, when we welcome the Class of 2025 to campus. Read about everything that's planned and get excited for what comes next.
