- RMU Dining Services announced the introduction to the new faculty and staff meal plan. Staff and faculty are able to load a dining plan onto their RMU ID card, which gives them access to all dining locations. The quickest way to load funds is through eAccounts. Sign in online first to register your account at rmu.edu/eAccounts.

The engineering department has received a two-year Investigator-Initiated Focused Research Grant from the Department of Defense valued at $76,668. The project is titled “High Definition Axonal and Connective Tissue Imaging (HD-ACTI) in Porcine and Human Models of Traumatic Optic Nerve Injury.” In this project Rika Carlsen, associate professor of mechanical and biomedical engineering, and her collaborators will address eye injury or visual dysfunction as related to military-relevant traumatic events. Carlsen is the co-principal investigator of this project which includes University of Pittsburgh, UPMC, Wake Forest University, and Carnegie Mellon University as collaborators. University of Pittsburgh is the primary recipient.

The Career and Professional Development Center is hosting a virtual career fair and student engagement expo on October 1 from noon – 4 p.m. in Handshake. The event is open to all RMU students and alumni, and we ask that you highly encourage all students to participate. Even if the student is not actively seeking an internship or career employment, our fair is a magnificent opportunity to start building a relationship with the region’s top organizations.
- RMU will host its 18th actuarial science career fair over the week of September 28 to October 2 in a fully virtual format. Cigna has agreed to again sponsor the fair for the second year. Fifteen firms have registered with several additional firms expected to be added over the next few weeks. The career week will consist of virtual information sessions, chat rooms, and virtual interviews. Student turnout has been equally strong as in prior years with a total of 131 students registered. All alumni and students are invited to participate and questions can be referred to the fair’s organizer, Sara Durzo at durzo@rmu.edu.
- Wellness Week takes place October 12-16 and is full of great ways to stay active and healthy. All sessions will be held virtually, and each one is 30 minutes. Links to register for each event will be emailed out closer to the date of the sessions.
