RMU SEMS and RMU's Center for Innovation and Outreach celebrated and attended the exclusive grand opening reception of Moonshot Museum after working on a year-long collaborative project.
Robert Morris University’s School of Science, Engineering & Mathematics and RMU's Center for Innovation and Outreach celebrated and attended the exclusive grand opening reception with Sam Moore, museum curator, and the team at the Moonshot Museum on October 13, 2022. The RMU team has been working on a year-long collaborative project to help set up an interactive rover display within the Moonshot Museum.
The Moonshot Museum is Pennsylvania's first space museum and the only museum in the world to focus exclusively on career + community readiness for the 21st century space industry. Operated by the Astrobotic Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Moonshot Museum is co-located at the headquarters of space robotics company Astrobotic, offering an unparalleled real-time window into the construction of lunar spacecraft. Dr. Won Joo, Engineering Department Head, and Lab Technician, Gabe Cotrell along with several students created two 3D printed rovers and dozens of payload bricks implanted with RFID readers for young museum goers to test their spacecraft knowledge.
