RMU Statement on Diplomas
Dear students,
Recently, Robert Morris University announced that undergraduate majors would no longer be recorded on the diplomas of RMU graduates. We made this decision in order to make diplomas more uniform across all our degree programs and to bring the university in line with best practices in higher education and the requirements of our governing bodies.
Having taken into consideration your feedback, and in consultation with the executive committee of the Student Government Association, RMU will continue to include the name of your major on your diploma when you graduate. We will be able to do so in a manner that ensures we meet all accreditation requirements while still providing recognition for the program in which you have earned your degree.
Students who graduated in December 2020 will be receiving a replacement diploma from the university at no cost. Those diplomas will be mailed in the coming weeks.
On behalf of RMU, I thank you for your input, and to our recent graduates, congratulations on your impressive achievements.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann Rafoth, Ph.D.
Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
