Statement from RMU President Chris Howard on the Tree of Life Congregation Shootings
On behalf of Robert Morris University, I offer my deepest condolences to the Tree of Life Congregation and the Squirrel Hill community following the atrocity that was committed there this morning.
On behalf of Robert Morris University, I offer my deepest condolences to the Tree of Life Congregation and the Squirrel Hill community following the atrocity that was committed there this morning. We will keep in our prayers and in our hearts those who were lost and those who continue to recover from their wounds. We are grateful for the police officers and other first responders who rushed to their aid. We condemn unequivocally the hate and violence that has so grievously wounded the city of Pittsburgh today, and we will work alongside all our neighbors to make this a safe, inclusive, and welcoming community.
I urge members of the RMU community who are struggling to come to terms with this incident to seek the services of the RMU Counseling Center. You may also want to consider donating blood, and you can learn how and where to do so here. Pittsburgh is a strong community, and RMU will stand together to make sure the darkness does not overcome the light.
Sincerely,
Dr. Chris Howard
President, Robert Morris University
