Patient Safety and Quality
The Certificate in Patient Safety and Quality at Robert Morris University is designed for healthcare professionals interested in expanding their knowledge regarding patient safety and quality.
Today’s healthcare environment includes challenges in many areas---decreasing reimbursement, new patient-centered initiatives, increasing costs, health professional burnout, and turnover—issues of clinical quality and patient safety take on even greater importance than ever.
The Patient Safety and Quality certificate focuses on executive leadership, process improvement, patient safety, quality and performance improvement, legal and regulatory processes, strategy, and an introduction to operations management, including lean and Six Sigma. The certificate is designed for working healthcare professionals who want to become more effective change agents with education at the graduate level without the intensity of pursuing a master’s degree. The program attracts those yearning for personal and professional life-long learning and improvement.
The certificate is for highly motivated individuals who want to continue to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others. This can be in a new career focused on patient safety, quality, or process improvement, or your existing healthcare professional role.
Prerequisite: BS Degree, preferably in healthcare but not required.
