This course addresses conceptual understanding and application of technology for planning and delivering instruction and student use of technology to enhance learning. Discussion includes basic computer hardware and software terminology; societal ethical and legal issues regarding the use of technology; distance learning; and information systems to support educational organization. The course participant must demonstrate proficiency integrating educational technology appropriate to specific lessons and must demonstrate an ability to teach students how to use technology to meet lesson objectives. Skills practiced in the overall technological and educational context include: word processing spreadsheet database and presentation software. In addition other areas explored with hands-on experience include use of the Internet educational software digital media video conferencing electronic whiteboards and other typical computer hardware.Prerequisite: EDUC21003 Credits
