To address the rising demand for graduates with professional sales knowledge, RMU now has a Center for Sales Excellence in its School of Business. RMU is the only Pittsburgh-area member of the University Sales Center Alliance, a consortium of more than 50 U.S. universities with dedicated sales centers.
The center organizes networking events, guest speakers, and an annual sales competition using a case study provided by U.S. Steel. It also supports a 12-credit certificate program in sales that trains students in industry customer relationship management software and focuses on sales psychology, branding, and consultative and professional sales.
Through a partnership with global industrial and construction supply company Fastenal, students in the capstone course practice simulations of real world professional sales scenarios.
