RMU’s School of Informatics, Humanities and Social Sciences is dedicated to the study of people and human interactions from all aspects, including language, culture, communication, creativity, technology, organization, history, economy, society, and security.
SIHSS challenges you to seek knowledge and to develop your professional skills. You can learn to manage, protect, and analyze data in degree programs in computer information systems, hone your critical thinking and analytical skills studying human society and culture in the humanities and social sciences, pursue your passion in the broad and growing field of communication, understand and influence your followers in organizational leadership, and combine your creativity with technical expertise in media arts.
Students enjoy our modern facilities, including the Academic Media Center, Writing Center, Oral History Center, and the extensive studio and gallery space within Wheatley Center, the school’s home. Wheatley is a custom-designed living/learning facility with classrooms, a homework lab, a cafe, a sky lit atrium, a screening room and a student lounge.
Bachelor’s degree programs in Cyber Forensics & Information Security, Information Sciences and Computer Information Systems are ABET-CAC accredited.

The CCE center provides cybersecurity education program guidance and oversight, general cyber defense information, and opportunities of cybersecurity research, collaboration, and outreach for students, faculty, and other organizations.
RMU has been awarded a new grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to establish a CyberCorps® Scholarship for Service (SFS) program. This grant program is to recruit highly qualified and diverse students and develop them into excellent and ethical cybersecurity professionals with strong technical and strategic thinking and research skills to meet the growing needs of federal, state, local and tribal government workforce and defend America’s cyberspace.
