Academic Media Center
The media production facility is home to a variety of live studio and location video programs, live sports productions of athletic events, as well as radio production. The Academic Media Center has a variety of High Definition cameras, audio, lighting and grip accessories and is expertly maintained and upgraded to industry standards as needed. Keeping in tune with the latest technologies, the dedicated faculty and staff provide a first person approach to the learning experience. Students working in the Academic Media Center gain valuable experience and diverse options of engaged learning that provides a seamless transition into professional employment.
Our state-of-the-art Master Control room distributes and archives all media via server-based media asset technology.
The Academic Media Center houses a tapeless control room with high definition capabilities. It features a state-of-the-art switcher, teleprompter, graphics system, audio room, IFB system and two learning stations with monitors and headphones.
RMU TV has one of the largest television studios in the region that includes green screen and virtual set technologies. RMU TV has 24-hour cable television broadcast, distributed by Moon Community Access TV and Comcast. Award winning student produced programs encourage participation both behind and in front of the camera and features a diversity of genres such as News, Sports and Talkshows.
Our non-linear editing labs consist of Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro software editing work stations. All 24 suites are high definition editing stations. Adobe Creative Suite is available and updated regularly.
Sound Editing Capabilities
The AMC Post Sound Suite allows our students to mix sound for film/video in either stereo or 5.1 surround, along with the ability to add sound effects, Foley, ADR, and music using the latest Pro Tools software in a professional studio environment rather than just a classroom workstation.
As a web based station, RMU-Radio has the capability to be heard world-wide via the internet. Shows are produced by students majoring in diverse fields such as nursing, business, media and more. Ideas and proposals for new shows are always welcome.
Colonial Sports Network
Students produce Robert Morris University football, basketball and hockey games with the support of Moon Community Access TV's state-of-the-art multi-camera production trailer.

The Academic Media Center has a variety of High Definition cameras, professional audio recording devices, tungsten and LED lighting, grip accessories along with camera dolly sliders and jibs. Our equipment is expertly maintained and upgraded to industry standards as needed. Keeping in tune with the latest technologies, the dedicated professional and trained student staff provide a first person approach to the learning experience.
