Dr. Ann D. Summerall-Jabro serves as a senior judge for PRSA

Ann D. Summerall-Jabro, university professor of communication and organizational leadership, served as a senior judge for the Public Relations Society of America's (PRSA) most prestigious and oldest industry awards, The Silver and Bronze Anvils.  Dr. Jabro has been invited to serve as a judge for more than five years. This year, she was asked to serve as a senior judge, which requires interfacing with the PRSA Anvil committee, contacting and facilitating a team of judges from industry and academe to identify the Anvil winners and honorable mentions, and prepare feedback for the submitters. Each team member individually scores the entries and then meets virtually to discuss the scores, rank the entries, and reach consensus on a winner. "It was a lot of responsibility but an amazing experience that utilized my public relations, leadership, and team building knowledge," said Jabro.  "My team was predominately from industry and each member offered amazing perspectives on the entries.  The discussion was engaging, highly informative, and strictly focused on identifying the best entry deserving of an Anvil award."
