Guest Students

Who is a Guest Student?

If you are currently a student at another college or university who plans on taking credit courses at Robert Morris University to transfer back to your home school, and do not intend to obtain a degree or certificate from our University, you are a Guest Student.  To enroll, please follow the steps below.

Note: Guest students are NOT eligible to receive financial aid from Robert Morris University.  Please find our current tuition cost at rmu.edu/tuition.

STEP 1 – Find Your Courses

  • View rmu.edu/schedule for course offerings and click on “details” for prerequisites.  You will also, be able to see if the course still has current seats available.

  • Obtain the course reference subject/number (Ex: ACCT2040) and title for the course(s) you plan to take.

STEP 2 – Complete an Admissions Application

  • Submit an application through the Admissions office online at www.rmu.edu/apply
  • Click on I am a Guest student

STEP 3 – Provide Proof of Prerequisite(s) /Submit Guest Student Course Form

Students must attach proof of prerequisite completion for the course(s) they are planning to take onto the Guest Student course form you will receive via email once your application has been processed. Students must attach proof of prerequisite completion for the course(s) they are planning to take onto the Guest Student course form you will receive via email once your application has been processed. Please complete and submit the guest student course form in its entirety.   Either of the following may be provided as proof:

  • Unofficial college transcript showing grade(s) of C or above for required course prerequisites OR proof of current enrollment in course prerequisite.

  • Unofficial Test scores (SAT/ACT) may be used to satisfy placement into college-level English or college-level math courses (Scores shouldn’t be more than FIVE years old).

Upon review and approval of submitted documents, you will receive an email regarding your registration request.

STEP 4 – Pay for your Course(s)

To complete this step, you will need your RMU ID Card # which will be issued via email within 3-5 business days.  You will need the last 10 digits of this number to access our Sentry Secured Services.    After receiving your RMU ID Card #, log on to http://rmu.edu/activate and activate your account.

  • To make a credit card payment, students will log into Sentry Secured Services – go to Banner Self Service – then click on View Account/Pay My Tuition.  Credit cards payments are NOT accepted by phone.
    (Guest Students do not pay the Deposit)

  • To make payment by check, please make checks payable to Robert Morris University and mail to:
