Test-Optional Admission

SAT and ACT testing scores are now optional for freshman applicants at RMU.

To make the admissions process as flexible as possible, RMU has waived the requirement for all programs for freshman applicants.

Q: What programs are eligible for test-optional admission?
A: For freshman applicants, all majors are offering test-optional admission.

Q: How do I apply?
A: Complete the application for admission to RMU without submitting your test scores.  This step will be optional in the application process.

Q: What are the other requirements for admission?
A: With the exception of test scores, RMU will continue to observe all admission requirements and consider each individual, their academic achievement, and other factors to identify candidates who will thrive as members of the RMU community.  For more detailed requirements along with major-specific requirements, please visit this page

Q: Can I still qualify for academic scholarships?
A: Yes.  Test optional admission will not have any impact on scholarship eligibility or consideration.

Q. Should I submit SAT/ACT scores if I have them?
A. We encourage students who have SAT/ACT scores to submit them if they feel that they are appropriately reflective of their academic performance.

Q. I’m still planning to take the SAT/ACT.  Can I apply now and submit my scores later?
A. Yes.  You can submit your scores at any time.
