Paige says: “I first met Justin during orientation weekend freshman year. That afternoon we had two options: bowling or mini golf. The group I was with decided we wanted to go bowling first, so that's what we did! After a game or two, my friend and I both got bored of bowling and decided to run across the street to see if we could still make it to play mini golf. The group we got behind was lagging at each hole, and continuously offered to let us go ahead of them, which we declined because we weren't racing through the game either. Eventually they offered to let us join their game, which we finally did because at this point we were just standing around waiting. That's where I met Justin. It's actually a funny story because I don't remember talking to him much that night until we got back to campus and all went to Romo's. The entire group exchanged numbers so we could hang out more and I made him show me his student ID when he said his last name was Papa (how was that real???). Well, fast forward a few weeks, and since he and I were the only two in our group to live on campus, we hung out more and more. We stayed up almost all the time so we could explore campus, drive to Walmart, or finish up homework or study. Justin would also walk me to my dorm every night to make sure I got there safely, and that's where I felt he liked me more than a friend. We started dating in October of 2016 and even at that point I knew he was the one for me. Every spring when it was offered we traveled and took part of the Alternative Spring Break trip, and we volunteered at numerous organizations together. We were able to grow as individuals as well as grow stronger as a couple while attending Robert Morris. Now we have two dogs and stable careers thanks to RMU. I am a registered nurse at Magee Women's Hospital and he graduated with his master’s, bachelor’s, and a minor all in engineering-related fields and works at Perryman Company. We will be together for 5 years this year, and I can't wait for my last name to be Papa as well.”

Justin says: “August 26th, 2016, free mini-golf for orientation week. Made 2 new friends that day and we decided to go mini-golfing since it was free. But we all sucked at mini-golf and we're taking quite a long time. We felt really bad for the 2 girls behind us because they kept waiting for us, like we could see them watching us every hole because we were taking so long. So after a while we invited them to join our group — this way they were in our group taking long with us instead of waiting. One of the girls who kept waiting for us is now my girlfriend of over 4 years. After that night we all headed to Romo’s and stayed up super late just talking telling everyone about ourselves. Her and I ended up hitting it off and eventually dating two months later. All because my friends and I were really slow at mini-golf. 4 years later we only know each other because of that one night where we just so happened to be right near each other at the perfect moment. Now we have graduated and gotten our professional careers started, excited for what is next.”
