“Dale and I met during the honors freshmen orientation during an icebreaker game. He learned I also knew how to speak German and, much to my embarrassment, began loudly talking in the language at me. His loud voice carried in the shrinking room and I was horrified. I decided I had met the most annoying, embarrassing person on campus and vowed to avoid him at all costs.

I didn't do a wonderful job evading him as we slowly became friends in our shared honors classes over the years. It wasn't until the summer before our senior year that we fell in love. I lived on campus that summer for an internship and he would visit me before he would go to theater rehearsal at Massey. One summer night in the parking lot outside of Salem, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and we have been together ever since. Currently, we are in the process of buying our first home in Pittsburgh. This picture of us was taken at an honors networking event during our senior year and has always been one of our favorites.”
