HANDSHAKE
Handshake is the Robert Morris University Career and Professional Development Center’s primary system for accessing employer profiles and job/internship postings. It is also the primary system to register for and access events like professional development workshops, career fairs, and interview sessions. We are pleased to offer Handshake among our wide variety of resources and services to students, alumni, and employers.

The Four-Year Career Engagement Plan provides important action items to empower your career development. The steps in this plan will improve your ability to EXPLORE your strengths, interests and what RMU has to offer, ENGAGE with resources and professionals who can help you along the way, gain EXPERIENCE through internships, jobs and professional events. All helping you to EXCEL towards an engaged, productive and successful career and life.
ACADEMIC INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
At RMU, we believe internships are an important part of your college experience. Internships enable you to get practical experience in an actual work environment while receiving academic credit. RMU has relationships with Fortune 500 companies, governmental agencies, small businesses, social service agencies, hospitals, and many other organizations that offer our students opportunities to gain real-world experience and connections that in many cases, lead to job offers.

CAREER OUTCOME BY MAJOR
The Career and Professional Development Center (in compliance with the National Association of College Educators) surveys all students graduating from Robert Morris University to obtain information on their career plans, also known as the First Destination Career Outcome. The annual initiative provides clear, concise, and consistent data on the outcomes associated with a college education. Information gathered from graduates include the hiring companies, graduate and professional schools, and starting salaries. Explore the outcomes by major to learn about the first career destinations of our 2020/2021 graduates!
