Sporting Events

Pittsburgh Penguins

• The Pittsburgh Penguins are a professional NHL team who have achieved 5 Stanley Cup Championships! Located roughly 25 minutes from campus, we encourage students, faculty, and families to attend games when in town!
• Students can sign up for the GetGo RUSH tickets through the Penguins official website (https://www.nhl.com/penguins/tickets/student-rush) to purchase game day tickets at a discounted rate.

Pittsburgh Steelers

• The Pittsburgh Steelers are a professional NFL team who have won 6 Super Bowl Championships! Located roughly 30 minutes from campus we encourage students, faculty, and families to attend games when in town!

Pittsburgh Pirates

• Pittsburgh’s very own MLB team is also located roughly 30 minutes away from campus. Head on over to PNC Park for a night of America’s favorite pastime and stay after for the frequent firework show following select games throughout the season.

Pittsburgh Riverhounds

• Pittsburgh is home to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, a USL Championship soccer team. The Highmark Stadium is home to the Riverhounds and offers breathtaking views of the city and is located roughly 30 minutes from campus.

Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens

• Located in Oakland, Phipps has a wide array of beautiful flowers and gardens for all to enjoy!

Andy Warhol Museum

• Located on the North Shore of Pittsburgh, the Andy Warhol Museum is the largest museum in North America that is dedicated to a single artist!

• Located in Oakland, this museum was founded by Pittsburgh-based industrialist Andrew Carnegie and was the first museum in the United States with a primary focus on contemporary art!

• Located on the North Shore of Pittsburgh across the street from Acrisure Stadium, the Carnegie Science Center has four floors of interactive exhibits and is fun for the whole family!

Carnegie Museum of Natural History

• Located in Oakland, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History displays over 200 dinosaur fossils!

• Located just minutes from Downtown Pittsburgh in Northside, the museum campus consists of three historic buildings consisting of video, performance art, and site specific installations!

Randyland

• Located in Pittsburgh’s North Side, Randyland is widely regarded as one of America’s most colorful public art landmarks!
• Randyland is free to all visitors, however donations are accepted!

Heinz History Center

• Located in Downtown Pittsburgh, the Heinz History Center is dedicated to the history and heritage of Western Pennsylvania and is Pennsylvania’s largest history museum!

Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum

• Located in Downtown Pittsburgh, the Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum is a dynamic 20,000 sq. foot museum located within the Heinz History Center that is home to more than 70 interactive activities that celebrate the rich traditions of sports in the Pittsburgh region.

Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village

• Meadowcroft Rockshelter, located in Washington County, is the oldest site of human habitation in North America, and provides a unique glimpse into the lives of prehistoric hunters and gatherers. This National Historic Landmark features a massive rock overhang used 19,000 years ago for shelter by the first people in North America.

Fort Pitt Museum
