  • On October 12 more than 200 educators from across Pennsylvania gathered online to participate in RMU's inaugural special education conference, presented by the education department and the department's Trees Network. After opening remarks from Provost Mary Ann Rafoth, sessions included presentations on engaging parents and students virtually, trauma informed care, equity in special education and much more. Participating educators were able to earn continuing education credit. Participants also heard remarks from SNEHS dean Mark Meyers, a presentation on structured literacy from RMU staff member Amy Jackson of the Peirce Center, and a presentation on supporting students with disabilities as they transition to higher education from Molly Hill of Services for Students with Disabilities.

  • RMU’s Department of Arts and Humanities with Ashcat Theatre is proud to present Evegny Schwart’s The Dragon. This production will be live streaming on Zoom, Saturday Nov 7 at 8 p.m. and Sunday Nov 8 at 2 p.m. Admission is free. Edited and adapted for Zoom by director Barbara Burgess-Lefebvre, The Dragon is a tale of a town besieged by a dragon, that doesn’t really mind that much. Salvation appears in the form of a hero who plans to defeat the dragon, with or without their support. Kids will love the action packed story while adults will see much more.   • Before the holiday break, attend the Healthy Holiday Celebration Virtual Lunch and Learn on November 10 from 10-11 a.m. UPMC MyHealth is hosting this lunch and learn to help you stick with your healthy eating goals throughout the holiday season. Join the discussion here.
  • Join The Rooney Program for their virtual reunion panel discussion "The Economic Impact of COVID-19: Perspectives from Chile, France, Ireland, and the US" on Wednesday Nov 11 at noon. Moderated by Center for Global Engagement director Jennifer Creamer, the panel includes RMU associate professor of management Eliada Griffen-El and three past Rooney Scholars:

  • The Center for Veterans and Military Families invites you to our virtual Veterans Day and 2020 CVMF Graduation Celebration on November 11 from 4-5 p.m. This event is a celebration of military service and academic achievement. Please visit rmu.edu/veterans to watch the show. The event will include the RMU ROTC Color Guard, enthusiastic singing by John Tucci, patriotic music by the RMU Band, a message from President Chris Howard and CVMF director David Ausman, and a special inspirational slideshow.
