• In the U.S. News & World Report 2020 Best Graduate Schools, RMU’s M.B.A. program shot up 38 spots to rank 168th in the country. RMU’s increase was the biggest among all Pennsylvania universities in this year’s ranking of part-time M.B.A. degree programs. Locally, the improved ranking for RMU’s program moved it ahead of Duquesne’s, which fell 63 places to 188th. RMU’s Doctor of Nursing Practice degree program ranks 117th nationally in the new listings. Its rise of 35 spots from last year’s rankings also was the most among the state’s D.N.P. programs. Rounding out the U.S. News & World Report graduate school rankings was RMU’s master’s degree program in nursing, ranked 140th in the country. That was an increase of 15 places over the previous year. • The Wellness Committee is hosting a spring session of Weight Watchers at Work. The 12-week program will begin March 28 and will be held each Thursday at noon in the SESS conference room on the 4th floor of Nicholson. Please RSVP by March 21 by contacting Patty Zusinas.
• Tau Sigma, the national honor society for transfer students, has started a chapter at Robert Morris and will hold its induction ceremony Monday, March 25 at 5 p.m. in the Wheatley Atrium. All are invited to attend. The honor society recognizes academic excellence and involvement of its members, who must have transferred at least 24 credit hours and hold a 3.5 GPA. President Howard will address the inductees at the ceremony.

• Eliada Griffin-EL, director of the Massey Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, has been selected to be a Scholar of the Aspen Ideas Festival, the flagship event for the Aspen Institute. From June 23-26 Griffin-EL will attend the nation's premier, public gathering place for leaders from around the globe and across many disciplines to engage in deep and inquisitive discussion of the ideas and issues that both shape our lives and challenge our times.
   
• Daria Crawley, head of the Department of Management, was selected to attend the Council of Foreign Relations Educator's workshop, which is a professional development opportunity for professors from colleges from across the country, to enhance the teaching of international relations, U.S. foreign policy, and the role of the United States in the world. "I am excited to engage with other international affairs scholars and learn about the CFR's wealth of resources I can use to enhance the global perspective I bring into my classrooms," says Crawley.

• All are invited to attend the Fourth Annual Women & Transformational Leadership Symposium presented by the Women's Leadership & Mentorship Program. The 2019 Symposium is a two-day conference focused on the advancement of women and systemic change to eliminate gender bias and inequity. The event highlights visionary leaders addressing innovation, change, and equity through interactive workshops and panel discussions. • The RMU Health Services Administration Program is hosting a networking and education event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 1 in the Yorktown Hall Westinghouse Room. "Healthcare Emergency Preparedness: Requirements, Best Practices, and Lessons Learned" will feature an expert panel including keynote speaker Mark Ross, vice president for emergency preparedness at the Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania. • On April 6 the RMU Counseling Center is hosting their 3rd Out of the Darkness Walk in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). The Out of the Darkness Walk raises awareness of a very important cause and provides educational materials for those who may need help or want to learn more. It is free to create a team and participate in the walk! • RMU is hosting the first  Cyber-Tech Women's Symposium on April 12 at Yorktown Hall. Panelists and speakers include Summer Craze Fowler, chief security officer at Argo AI, and Amber Schroader, founder and CEO of the Paraben Corporation. Learn more and register here.
